Stuck

By Chris | March 29, 2008

I’m having trouble these days knowing what to write about. What makes it worse is that I struggle with how much I want to share publicly on the Web to begin with. I’ve already written a few posts that would get me into trouble if the wrong people read it, particularly my superiors at work.

Since 1999, I’ve posted quite a few blog entries. I’ve considered posting up my massive archive, comments included. But I used to be quite a bit… immature. Yeah, I think that’s the nicest way of saying it.

The content proves how much I’ve grown since 1999, but I fear that it could have the potential of destroying people’s impressions of me, especially if some of it was read out of context.

What do you think? Am I taking myself too seriously? I want a conversation here, people!

i think that it just depends on the person reading, and what it is you are writing about. If you’re really scared, then you can just warn before the blog, you know? Put a little side note saying it’s old or a warning or if you want put context. It’s a risk I guess.

Nah, I don’t think you are taking yourself too seriously. Things are different now than they used to be. I’ve done the same thing…being careful about what sorts of things appear on the net because of perceptions of me and my responsibilities now. We’ve grown up since we were in college, and are turning onto Middle Age Blvd.

BTW…get the old pics of me out of your flickr albums :)

I don’t wanna know that stuff, but that’s just me. ;) I’m happy with the Chris I know. If you want to put it out there, put it out there. Who cares what perceptions people may develop, there’s only one true Judge that matters. I would consider you very confident if you were to post that content, because it would take a lot of guts. That doesn’t mean that you are not confident if you don’t. Others would most likely NOT see you for your past, but for the strength in the act of publicizing your growth to inspire others….
